A day at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter is a long one. By the time you have walked the Great Hall, Diagon Alley and the Hogwarts model, most people want one thing: a proper meal, sitting down, without another hour in the car.

The Studio Tour sits in Leavesden, on the edge of Watford. Its official shuttle bus runs between the tour and Watford Junction station, which is good news for dinner.

The short answer: eat near Watford Junction

Almost every visitor who arrives by train passes through Watford Junction twice: on the way to the tour and on the way back. Nana’s Restaurant & Lounge is at 129 St Albans Road, a 3 minute walk from the station. Step off the shuttle, walk round the corner, and you are at the table before your train home has even been announced.

That matters more than it sounds. With tired children, shopping bags from the gift shop and a train to catch, a restaurant you can reach on foot from the station beats a detour across town.

Nana’s is an independent Lebanese restaurant and shisha lounge, rated #1 of 265 restaurants in Watford on Tripadvisor. The kitchen is built around grills and mezze to share:

Mezze for the table: hommous, baba ghanoush, falafel, halloumi, lamb kibbe, fattoush and tabbouleh. The mixed mezze for two is a good way to start if you cannot choose.
Grills: shish taouk (marinated chicken), lahem meshwi (lamb), kafta, lamb chops and the mixed meshwi for the hungriest in the group.
Something simpler: burgers, wraps, chips and chicken nuggets for anyone who has had enough adventure for one day.
Dessert: knafeh, baklawa, waffles and milkshakes.

Friday and Saturday nights
